If you are passionate about working with animals and are looking for extra income without a huge weekly time commitment, becoming a Kennel Assistant at West Salem Veterinary Clinic may be the perfect opportunity for you! Hopefully you are also an early morning person as our morning shifts start at 6AM!

West Salem Veterinary Clinic is a full-service veterinary medical and surgical facility, seeking a hard-working kennel assistant to join our team. In addition to medical services, our clinic also offers pet boarding services for which we need a dedicated team of kennel assistants to care for these boarding pets during their stay with us. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or with domestic animals (dogs/cats) is preferred but not required.

The ideal new team member we are looking for is self-motivated, energetic, and has excellent communication skills and compassion. Is this you?

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide a clean and healthy environment for the animals in the clinic’s care

• Cleanliness of the laundry room, washing dishes, clean runs and kennel space, empty garbage, change bedding daily

• Exercise the animals, letting them outdoors

• Administer medications as directed

• Monitor the health of the animals, recognizing when there may be an emergency and communicating this to the clinic staff

• Strong attention to detail

• Effective communication skills, verbal and written

• Adaptive to changes

• Time management and strong organization skills

• Able to work independently with little supervision

Job Type: Part-time, Must be available to work Friday PM shifts plus AM and PM weekend shifts. Must also be available to work Holidays.
